All dogs at POSC have either attended or are attending a socialization class or basic training
course in an effort to promote retention and happy, healthy relationships. When adopting a
puppy under 6 months of age, adopters are required to attend puppy classes at their own
expense. Some dogs may need additional training at the owner's expense.
At first glance I'm a chihuahua but look closer at my face. See a little pug hiding in there?
I'm just out of puppy-hood so I've got lots of energy and fun in me. Like all puppies I'd
benefit from going to school to learn my manners. Just because I'm little doesn't mean I don't
need training! But I've heard that school is lots of fun and just think-- We can do it
together! So let's go!
I'm a pretty little white spaniel mix, not even a year old yet and I'm already an orphan!
Isn't that sad? Actually, I'm a happy girl, not sad at all! I'm a little shy at first but I
warm up quickly and I LOVE to cuddle! I am playful (I'm a puppy, after all) but not too crazy,
especially by puppy standards. All I need now is a nice family to take me home and love me.
I'm all packed, so any time you want to come and get me, I'm ready to go!
BROWNIE
My Helping Hero
You deserve a great
forever home Brownie!
Ellen, Zak and Nemo
I'm a sweet, mature, loving guy who has always been in a home until now! Unfortunately my owners broke up, and suddenly
there was no one who could take care of me. So here I am in a kennel, and let me tell you, I don't like it one bit! I mean
they're nice to me and everything, but after years in a real home I know which is better! I still have lots of years of love to
give, so I hope someone comes and gets me soon. This place is noisy!
If I look a little tired it's because I just finished weaning my 6 puppies, which was
pretty exhausting! Now I'm trying to get lots of walks to get my girlish figure back and
extra food to gain some weight back. Those puppies really take it out of you! I'm a super
sweet girl who is ready for some me and you time. Maybe we could do a spa day and get a
massage. A little pampering is just what the vet ordered!
They say I'm a chihuahua blend but other than my size, I don't look very chihuahua-ish.
I do hop around a lot, so I guess that's why they called me Cricket! I'm a sweet little guy who
was starving when I was found and I still need to gain some weight. Please don't reach for me
suddenly when you meet me because I was likely abused and am a little hand shy. Other than that,
though, I'm super friendly and loving, and I like dogs and cats and I'm little enough to fit in
your pocket! But I'd rather have my own place of honor in your bedroom. Or the kitchen, since
I'm still really skinny and HUNGRY! But I'm small--I won't eat that much!
Hey there, I'm Delilah! They say I'm a Doby mix, but I'm not all that big-- A nice mid-sized dog. And did you see my beautiful blue
gray color? Pretty spectacular, right? Even my nose is gray! I'm a sweet, friendly, playful girl who just needs the right family to
come and adopt me and take me home so we can make beautiful music together forever! Hurry, please.
OK, I'm a chihuahua blend like lots of other dogs, but have you ever seen such interesting markings? That alone makes
me stand out from the crowd. I'm a very sweet girl but kind of shy at first. I warm up quickly, though, and then I love
to cuddle and go for walks and things like that. They’re trying to take me for lots of walks here because they seem to
think I'm a little overweight. (I'm not fat, I'm big boned!) Anyway, '’m really anxious to get into my forever home,
so come soon, OK?
FLYNN
My Helping Hero
Dear Flynn:
What joy you will bring
to your new home.
Love – Eileen
I'm a happy, friendly little guy who would make a perfect lap dog! Got a lap? Perfect! I do
have plenty of energy though, so I won't be sitting on your lap all the time. We could play
ball and go for walks and stuff too. They’re suggesting me for an adult home because I'm a
little hand shy and sudden movements startle me. I may have been abused in my old life, but
that's all behind me now and I’m ready for love! Please come and meet me!
I'm a sweet little guy who's a little confused about what has happened to me. I used to
have a home but now all of a sudden I'm in a kennel with all these dogs! I was pretty
scared when I first came here but I'm catching on to the routine and realize that these
people mean well. But I'd really rather be in a home again! Please come and get me!
I may look like a little puppy but I'm 1 whole year old and I'm not getting any bigger! I'm a
terrier though, so even though I may be small I have a big personality and a big heart. And
I'm an active little guy so even though I may look like you could carry me around in your
purse I want to be out playing with the big boys. One advantage of being small is that I'll
fit in anyone's house! How about yours?

You may remember me from when I was here before. I thought I had found my forever home but I had a little accident
and they brought me back. Not my fault! OK, maybe kind of my fault. It's possible that I jumped out of a second
story window and broke both my wrists and my owners couldn't deal with six weeks in casts and keeping me quiet and all,
so here I am! The good news is that the casts are off and I can run and play again and I'm still the good looking,
loving guy I always was! So come and meet me! Just don’t leave me locked in a room by myself, OK?
There's no doubt that I'm a German shepherd blend, but I may have been blended with a super model 'cause I'm
a lot taller and leggier than your average shepherd. But that just means there is more of me to love! And a
loving girl I am! I'm looking for an active family who will take me for walks and runs and play ball with me
and who has a big, soft couch for me to cuddle up on with them. Know anyone? Send them in!!

My Helping Hero
I am so proud to be your Helping Hero –
you are a hero to me.

If you're looking for a friendly, happy little guy to be your constant companion, here I am! I
like people and dogs, and I love to play or even sit quietly beside you while you watch TV! How
agreeable can you get? And I'm small, so I'll barely even make a dent in the couch. You know
you want me! Why else would you be reading this?
I'm a striking looking little girl, part terrier and part bat, judging from my ears. Too
bad I can't fly. If I could fly, I'd fly right out of here and into my forever home with
a family who loves me! Since I can't though I have to wait for you to come and find me.
I'm trying to be patient but I'd really, really, REALLY love it if someone would choose
me soon. Please?
You might think that because I'm "middle aged" that I just like to sit around all day and watch TV,
but I have a ton of energy and I love to play! I have all the best features of my pug-beagle ancestors-- I'm
friendly, playful, and cute as can be. What more could anyone want? I do need a family who will walk me and not
overfeed me though, since we puggles also get fat genes from both sides of the family. But we'll have so much fun!
Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, and big goofy labs are from… Pluto, of
course! I'm a typical teenage boy who has tons of energy and loves to play and run and
give kisses and eat and play some more. They say I'll need to go to school to learn some
manners which is OK with me! I've heard you get snacks and lots of attention at school
and I'm all about attention and snacks. So if you have an active family who needs a
active, loving pet… Here I am!

Yes, I'm a girl with a boy's name. Maybe they should change my name to Regina.
Am I gorgeous or what? You may never have met a real bull terrier before but you’ve probably heard of some of my famous cousins.
There was Rufus who won "Best in Show" at Westminster a few years ago, and of course, the Target dog. We're a distinctive
looking family with our football-shaped heads. And we're friendly, loyal, and loving. Like all strong breeds we need families who
will train us and give us good leadership so we don’t try to rule the house, but I guess that's true of all dogs! So come and meet
me!
I think they named me Skywalker and my brother Yoda because I'm the handsome one and he
talks funny. Probably that's it. Anyway I'm a super cute guy who gets so excited to meet
new people that I can hardly stand it. I am pretty young still, so I'll need to be taught
good puppy manners and how to behave, but I'm smart as well as handsome so I'll learn
fast!

Have you ever seen such a pretty little girl? Even though I'm the same size as some of
the little puppies around here, I'm full grown so what you see is what you get! The
nicest things come in small packages, you know. Even though I'm little, I'm a real dog,
not a toy so please don't carry me around in your purse or something. I'll be your
perfect pint-sized companion!
Yoda am I. Big eyes and funny ears I have, and tail wags and tongue kisses. In 900 years
you will look not as good. But a home I need, so come soon please to meet me and I will
upon you bestow all the love and goodness that the Force contains! For real!
Only Dog in Home, No Cats, Adult Home Only, High Energy, Experienced Owner,
Must Know Breed
Yabba dabba doo? No that's not me. I'm not a bear (and I never wear hats!) I'm an American bulldog,
which is a pretty rare breed! We have longer legs and are much more agile than our rolly-polly
English cousins. We were bred as working dogs, but to be honest, the only work I want to do now
involves sitting politely while you fix my dinner, after our long walk on the beach or somewhere.
Then I'll rest my gorgeous Big Head on your lap and gaze lovingly at you until it's time to play
or eat again. Now that's the life that a guy like me deserves!
They're billing me as a pomeranian, but I'm kind of the Larry Bird of pomeranians-- A little
over tall! So I guess there was a non-pom in my family tree. No matter though, I'm still a
super cute little guy who is very active and eager to find a new family to call my own! I can
get a little over excited at times, so I'd do well with an owner who would get me some training
and take the time to work with me to overcome my anxieties. It will be lots of fun, though,
because we can do it together, and that’s what I really want!
