POSC, in our efforts to promote retention and happy, healthy relationships, provides either a 6-week training course or in-home management program
for dogs who need a little extra guidance in adapting to their new home and pack members. Also, when adopting puppies under 1 year old, adopters
are required to attend puppy socialization classes at their own expense.

My Helping Hero
You're practically perfect in every way! Wishing you a loving forever home.
Good tempered and eager to meet people, I'm one of the many dogs who was transferred here from Lancaster. I'm so grateful to be
at Pet Orphans and I'm more than ready for the next chapter of my life story…the one where I'm adopted by people who will
give me a home. I'm not even sure what a real home is. I do know that I can't wait to be settled into a loving environment where
I can feel safe, secure, and LOVED for the first time in my life and for the rest of my life. After the loneliness I've endured,
I feel I deserve all this and more. It's pretty amazing that I'm as people friendly as I am, after the treatment I've endured.
But, I can't help feeling that most folks are kind and caring and that my heroes will come for me before too long. Approach my
kennel run and I'll come right up to you…hoping for some human contact…hoping for some kindness. Please don't let
me down.

Hi…I'm really good looking, aren't I? I thought you'd agree with me! Full of a lust for life, I'm
not too content to be living in a kennel run and I hope my life situation changes rapidly. This is a very
nice place to stay until I'm adopted. But, it certainly doesn't compare to living in a home where I can
receive constant love and direction in life. It doesn't take me long to bond with humans and I really
believe that once you spend a few minutes with me, you'll be overwhelmed by a feeling of love! I'm very
active, full of affection, and I have a great personality. The nice people here are even offering to pay
for a training session so that I can learn appropriate "in home" behavior. Then, we'll go to
more training classes together which will help us bond and also will help me be the very best behaved
doggie I can be.That will be fun and educational for us both! So, come on in and ask for Austin. You'll be
glad you did!

I know that I'm not the usual "Benji type" dog. But, let this be a lesson for you to NOT assume
that a name is who the dog is! (deep, huh?) I'd sure love to be adopted quickly so I don't have to be an
orphan for long. I don't know why I ended up living in a kennel run and I really would prefer to reside in
a home where I'll receive the love and care I so badly want. Look how my ears stand straight up. That
means I'll listen to you when you want me to do something! (Sure it does). Anyway, I'd like to call your
attention to the fact that I get along well with other dogs, and I'd love to be the second canine kid in
your life. Please give me the opportunity to show you what a terrific little guy I am.

Hi there. Aren't I about the cutest thing you've ever seen? I realize that good looks aren't everything,
but they sure help! Anyway, I can be what they call a "handful" but I'm also a loving little guy
who appreciates any time spent with humans. When I get the affection I crave, I'm soooo happy. I also have
lots of fun playing with a ball and I'm super happy when I have a squeaky toy in my mouth. I'm not too
hard to please…as long as I have someone who will love and care for me. Pet Orphans is willing to
help with my transition to your home, with the in home training session. I think that it will be well
worth your while to come on in, spend some time with me, and fall in love! Full grown and full of
personality, I do need to be the only doggie in our environment. But, I'm so full of life and love that I
think that I'm a real catch and I'm the only four legged pal you'll need. Oh yeah, I also want to share
with you that I'll sit on command and I can't wait to impress you with my special style. Hurry in to
discover that I'm telling you the truth.

I was found, along with MINDY, wandering the streets…not knowing where we were going, or what would
happen to us once we got there. Thank goodness we were taken in by a caring person. But, after extensively
searching, in vain, for our guardians, our rescuer was unable to keep us. Lucky for us that we ended up
here. It's exciting to know that we're now given the chance to be adopted into homes where we'll be
appreciated and wanted. I'm very people friendly and I'm crazy about cuddling. In fact, I'm a doozy of a
dog who is just waiting to be chosen to "go home" with my adopters where I can get all the love
and guidance I crave. Smart and eager to learn, I'm also a heck of a good looking guy…doncha think?
I'm not finished growing yet, so won't it be fun to watch me blossom into the amazing pet you're looking
for? If you're looking for a phenomenal critter that will bring delight into your life…look my way!

I can't believe that I'm the resident who's been here the longest! Unique and gregarious, I cherish time spent with
humans and love going for walks. Basically, I'm a smiley, playful girl who's eagerly awaiting someone to come in and
discover what an astounding dog I am. Delightfully "different" looking, I've decided to allow my unusual
facial structure to be an advertisement for my phenomenal personality. A big girl with a huge heart, I'll be forever
grateful for the opportunity to show my special someone how much love, light and laughter I'll add to their existence.
Easy going and eager to discover the joy of belonging, I'm also extremely active and I don't enjoy spending so much
time in a kennel run. I'd so much rather be out, playing somewhere, with someone I love. Therefore, I'm putting out
this plea. Come on in and meet me. I dare you to do this without smiling! I promise you that your life will be extra
special with me by your side!

Hello, I'm Glenda. Aren't I pretty? As you can see by the smile on my face, I'm a happy girl. I'm also
extremely eager to connect with my special someone who will decide that I'm the perfect choice as a
canine companion. I was here when I was younger and I was so happy to be adopted. Sadly, it didn't work
out, so I'm here again. I'm longing to be in my own home where I can feel secure and loved, and grow old
with people who appreciate me for the remarkable dog I am. Affectionate and playful, I'll do everything
in my power to bring smiles to your face daily. Full grown and full of hugs, I should share with you that
I can jump over some fences and I can also climb them, so you need to have fencing in your yard that I
can't manipulate my way out of! I adore going for walks and am actually quite easy and well behaved when
I'm taken on an excursion on leash. If you have another dog, bring him or her along to meet me. Oh, I
almost forgot to tell you…I'm very smart. I already will sit on command (usually), and I'm willing
to learn whatever you want to teach me. I feel that I'm missing out on so much that life has to offer and
I can't wait to learn what it's like to be in my own place, with people who will give me the permanent
home I deserve.

My name describes my temperament perfectly! In fact, one of the volunteers here calls me Sweet
Pea, which is also a perfect description of me. I'm proud to be recognized as such a cheerful
critter. I must admit that my excellent disposition and the constant smile on my face is
surprising, given the hardship I endured until I was brought here. Coming from the horrible
living situation in Lancaster, I've somehow managed to retain my positive outlook on life. I'll
make a remarkable canine companion for whoever decides to give me what I so desperately want
…a home of my own. Here, at Pet Orphans, I'm treated with the patience and kindness that
I'd heard about and longed for. I've also gotten a hint of what it's like to be cared
about…REALLY cared about. The idea of living in a place where I'll be recognized as the
remarkable dog I am is very exciting. I'll sit on command and gladly try my best to be the best
behaved boy you could hope for. By the way, they have a small pool in the yard for summer months
and I LOVE swimming! I dive into the water and splash around…frolicking and having a
blast. The water feels so good in the heat and I'm in heaven when I'm playing in it. Just try
and keep from laughing when you see me take a dip! If you know anything about Pit Bulls, you know
that we are loving, loyal, and smart. So, I'm asking for the chance to grab a little happiness by
being your loyal side kick. In return, I'll give you more adoration then you've ever experienced
in your life.
Although I can be somewhat shy when I first meet people, it doesn't take long for me to warm
up and show folks what a special doggie I am. In fact, I adore having long conversations with
people who are petting me. Honestly…I'm not hesitant to vocalize my pleasure when
being scratched in "just the right places." Perhaps, we can have a soul touching
chit chat when you come to meet me. We can really get to know each other before you adopt me
and take me home for my happy ending. Anyway, be sure to ask the Kennel people about this
amazing ability I have to let my feelings known! I also love to cuddle in trusted people's
laps and I walk very well on a leash. So, whatcha waiting for? Come on in…ask for
Henry, and get ready to be impressed!

Got a lap? I'm looking for one to curl up and cuddle in. That's one of my very favorite things to do! I'm
gorgeous (if I do say so myself), gregarious, and grateful for the opportunity to find a permanent, loving
home where I can finish growing up in style. We'll have so much fun going to the required puppy classes
together. I'll be able to learn appropriate doggie behavior and we'll bond while finding out the best
approach to helping me mature into a well adjusted, well behaved companion. Plus, as a cool bonus, Pet
Orphans is going to pay for a private training session in our home. Once you meet me, I don't think you'll
be able to walk away without filling out an application to adopt me so that we can share our lives for the
rest of our lives!

You know the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Well, please don't judge me by my breed.
Although, hopefully, you're educated about Pit Bulls, and you know that we are loving, loyal, and incredibly
affectionate. I was, thankfully, transferred here from a horrendous living situation in Lancaster. I, along
with many other canines, was blessed and fortunate to end up at Pet Orphans. Now, I'm praying that I'll find a
real, everlasting, home soon. I'm a bit timid when I first meet people as I haven't (until now) been fortunate
enough to have many kind souls in my life. I'm young and eager to bond with the people who will give me what I've
yearned for my entire life…human love and kindness. I'm praying that I don't have to wait long. I'm so
grateful to be away from the horrors I was forced to endure, and I'm deeply grateful to the comforts I have here.
Now, all I truly want is to discover what true belonging is. Please, oh please, allow me the opportunity to impress
you with my magnetic personality and undying devotion. I'll do everything in my power to be the most incredible
canine companion you could ever hope for.

Whether you ask me to shake hands or not, I'll gladly offer you my paw and even a kiss or two. Super people friendly,
I'm starting to feel desperate to connect with someone who will adopt me and offer me the secure home life I crave. I
came in here with my babies and nursed them until they were ready to be weaned. Then, they all got adopted (thank the
heavens) and now I'm all alone, wondering why I haven't found my own true love yet. I've been here way too long and
I'm begging you to give me the chance to prove to you what an incredible, smart girl I am. Inside and outside, I'm a
beautiful, active, loving creature who's long overdue for a home of my own. Then, I'll finally know what it's like to
share permanent, true love. Even though I don't like other dogs in my space, I have so much love inside of me…aching
to be shared with humans that you won't need another critter in your home…you'll just need me! I truly don't see
how anyone can resist my charms. Did I mention that I adore belly rubs? I also love playing with toys and, just like a kid,
I can amuse myself for the longest time. I even toss my toys in the air and catch them myself! Wheeeee!!! Please choose me

I'm beautiful, aren't I? I'm SO ready to begin my life as a beloved family member of someone who will understand that I need some
time to warm up to people before I show my true, loving self. See, I was one of the dogs who lived in miserable conditions in Lancaster.
I'm trying to get over my initial shyness, and with the help of people I trust, I know that I'll, soon, blossom into the trusting,
astounding dog I know is within me. It's hard, I guess, for some folks to understand what it's like for a dog who has been deprived of
human socialization and then is suddenly thrust into a situation where all kinds of people are around. It's wonderful to get to know
them…but, at the same time, it's kind of scary when you don't know what the person is going to do to you. I'm incredibly grateful
to be here, but I'd truly like to know what it's like to live in a home, where I can thrive and share affection with my guardians. Will
you help me?

Exuberant with a capital "E" that's me! Not only am I full of activity, but I'm super good
looking as well. I can only hope that very soon, I'm adopted and that I get to live with my guardians in
my own home again. This time, I aim to stay secure, with my people, for the rest of my life! Good natured
and happy to goof off with other canines, I'm hoping that I don't have to wait long before I get adopted.
Even though I'm past the puppy stages of life, I'm still a kid at heart and want a mommy and daddy to care
for me like I deserve to be cared about. Listen, Pet Orphans will pay for an in home training session to
make my transition easier for us all. This is a really good deal and I just know that you're gonna love me
soooo much that you'll pay close attention and take the necessary steps to make this adoption a joyful,
forever placement. Also, when we go to the required classes, we'll have lots of fun and learn lots of
stuff. What can I say besides, PLEASE hurry in to meet and fall in love with me. This is a very nice place
and they take good care of me, but I WANNA GO HOME!!!!!!

A super active and affectionate canine, I'm barely an adult and I want to discover what it feels like to belong with experienced dog people
who truly care about me. Going on long walks is one of my favorite things to do (besides getting lots of love from humans). I'm really not
thrilled to be living in a shelter environment when I could be in my very own home space, knowing how wonderful it feels to be a beloved family
member. I notice some of the other residents here, leaving with people who have chosen them to be part of their family, and I wonder, "why
not me?" You'd be passing up a terrific opportunity to find true love if you pass up the chance to get to know, and adopt me. By the way,
I'm really cute and have a great, outgoing personality. And, F.Y.I., I really do NOT enjoy being an orphan.

After the horrendous conditions that I, along with the other Lancaster dogs, was forced to endure for
soooo long, I'm extremely grateful to be here. I'm amazed at how friendly people can be and I'm ready to
make the transition into my own home. It may take me a few minutes to trust someone I don't know, but then
I become playful, friendly, and eager to share happy moments with that person. I can't wait to find out
what it means to REALLY belong with someone. I think that all of us Lancaster rescues deserve our happy
endings…I know that I, for one, will spend the rest of my life repaying your decision to adopt me
with unconditional love. Plus, I'm really good looking, so if you're looking for a large canine pal,

When I was first transferred here from Lancaster, I was quite fearful of people. I'm beginning to learn what trust
and caring is. I'm also starting to be aware that life CAN be good…away from the dismal living situation I
was trapped in. I thank the wonderful people here for rescuing me from the despicable life I was living, and I'm
trying to pick myself up (with their help) and create a new life for myself. I'll do best in an adult home and I
know that I'll benefit greatly from the training that is required when I'm adopted. I'm actually able to come up to
the front of my kennel run now and greet folks when they stop to say hello to me. I also am getting comfortable on
a leash and I know that, before long, I'll come out of my shell and be more than ready to live a normal life in my
own home. I'm a sweet, adult dog who honestly feels that I deserve this chance. I can't believe how good a hug
feels…I want more. I also want to be able to live out the rest of my life as the beloved companion of someone

When I was rescued off the streets with CLYDE, I was very relieved. But, it turned out that our hero
couldn't keep us. Now, we're both here (PHEW), waiting to be adopted into loving, permanent homes. Full
of youthful energy, I also love to cuddle and look forward to being in my own home where I can get all the
lap sitting ( and play) time I crave! I'm also impatient to get the training I require to be the best
canine companion I can possibly be for you. Just look at how sleek and cute I am. Don't you think that
it's about time I got to find out what true, loving commitment is? The people here are wonderful to all
the dogs here, but we all really need our own homes and I'm putting in my request for mine right now! I'm
eagerly awaiting my adoption and my new beginning at a happy life. I sure hope this happens before I grow
anymore. Just ask for the vivacious Mindy…you'll be ever so glad that you did!
I'm a total love bug who's full of affection and kisses for people. I adore being stroked and I believe
that I'll make the perfect canine companion for a family with children over the age of 12 years. I was
here in January of this year, and I got adopted. Unfortunately, it didn't work out in my new home and I
was returned in June. You can ask someone here for the details but I just know that when you meet me,
you'll realize what an exceptional girl I am. Outgoing and personable, I enjoy going for walks on a leash
and I promise that I'll be the most phenomenal canine companion you could ever hope for. My heart is
bursting with love, aching to be shared. All I want is a home of my own where I can bestow many years of
undying devotion upon my permanent, loving guardians. Hey, who can ever get too much of that?

that I am, indeed, mostly Rottie! But, mixed with Beagle and Bulldog? Ain't that incredible? Believe me,
I'm as surprised as you must be. No matter what my breeds, I'm as good natured and amiable as they get.
One heck of a vivacious dog who's delighted to spend time with humans, I also enjoy the company of other

in a despicable living situation for so long in Lancaster, I'm anxious to be adopted soon so I can bask in
the love of people who will care for me for the rest of my life. Come in to meet me and you'll be awed by
my extraordinary personality. Loyal and loving, I'm a resilient guy and you'd never know the suffering and
loneliness I've experienced in my life. I'm ready to go beyond the hurt and live the rest of my long life

I'm one of the Lancaster group of dogs who was lucky to end up at Pet Orphans. I know I look a little sad in my photo, but that's
only because of the way I lived and how I was mistreated before coming here. Now, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude that my
future will be bright. This is a very nice place to be, but I'm hoping that very soon, I'll be in my own home…a member of a
great family who will make up for the way I've lived until now. Sturdy and active, I'll be eternally grateful to the people who give
me my chance at happiness. I know that there's a bunch of us here to choose from. I only hope and pray that you'll include me in your
ponderings and that I'll win someone's heart before too long. I'll do everything in my power you add sunshine to your life and I'll

JOY If you ask for my VIEW on my situation
here, all I can say is that I'm grateful to be safe and secure at this place. I hope I won't
have to wait long before someone scoops me (and my siblings) up so we can all find out what
it's like to be loved and appreciated. Small enough to fit in your hand, I'll, of course, grow
some…but I won't be too big. You should see my mom (she's here too), she's a little
thing, so I figure that I won't grow toooo large. One thing is for sure, I'll do everything I
can to bring loads of JOY into your life!
SHERRI (ADOPTED) I'm sorry for yawning in my picture.
I'm a little baby who needs lots of rest. I'm also a little bored, waiting for my special
someone to come in and adopt me. I don't think this will take long, so I guess I'll take a nap
now. When I wake up, hopefully, I'll be able to VIEW my heroes who will be here to claim me.
By the way, my mom is also waiting to be adopted. Her name is Taffy and she deserves a
wonderful, permanent home, just like her kids do. Right now, I'm teeny enough to fit in your
hand. I don't think I'll grow too big and I can't wait to find out what unconditional love is
all about.
WHOOPI (ADOPTED) As a saucy and charming member of the
family of Chihuahua/Terrier mix puppies, I'd be delighted if you'd come to VIEW me soon. My
terrific sisters are, along with our mom, Taffy, waiting as patiently as our teeny little
selves will allow. Full of personality and undeniable cuteness, I can't wait to find out what
life is all about from my new, forever, mommy and daddy. I can't understand how anyone could
resist this darling face and outgoing personality of mine. I don't think you'll be able to.
So, turn off the T.V. (unless you're watching MY show), and come on over to Pet Orphans to meet
me.
